CMMS for HTM and Clinical Engineering Teams
Keep your medical equipment inventory, PM program and service records in one place, by facility, department and location. Classify equipment by risk once, let PM work orders generate themselves, and inspect devices from a phone even where there is no signal.
What is a clinical engineering CMMS?
A clinical engineering CMMS is the system an in-house HTM department uses to run its medical equipment management program: the equipment inventory, risk classification, scheduled maintenance and inspections, repairs, test equipment, parts and vendors, and the records surveyors ask to see. Bravio is CMMS and field service software built for biomedical equipment service. In-house teams use it to keep one record per device with its full service history, set PM intervals by equipment class, model or multi-visit PM plan, see missed PMs by facility, inspect equipment with a barcode-driven offline app, and produce signed service records. Bravio helps a department produce and keep those records. It does not make a hospital compliant; that is for the hospital and its surveyor to judge.

Everything included
Inventory by Facility, Department and Location
One record per device: manufacturer, model, serial, asset tag, location, and every work order and report against it. Import your current inventory from a spreadsheet or CMMS export; re-importing a corrected file updates records rather than duplicating them.
Risk Levels and Equipment Classes
Name your risk tiers the way your program does, map each to a severity, and flag critical equipment. Set risk and PM interval once per class (Infusion Pump, Defibrillator) and every model inherits them. Unassessed equipment shows as unassessed, never as low risk. Switched on per account on request.
PM Intervals and Multi-Visit PM Plans
A quarterly check with an annual inspection on the fourth visit is one PM plan, not two schedules. Each asset keeps its own place in the cycle, and the position moves only when a PM is completed, so a deferred visit is repeated rather than lost.
Upcoming and Missed PMs
The PM schedule groups due equipment by facility and month. A separate Missed PMs tab lists overdue PMs that have no open work order, and you can raise PM work orders for a whole selection in one step.
Inspection Rounds, Offline
Scan a barcode or QR label and land in that device’s report. Each device shows its risk level, progress counts against everything recorded at the site, and matching runs on the phone, so a basement or an RF-shielded suite does not stop the round.
Signed Service Records
Technicians fill your procedures (pass/fail, readings, photos) and capture signatures with a printed name. The time on a signature is stamped by the server, not the phone. Records export as branded PDFs, singly or combined for a facility and date range.
What an HTM department needs from a CMMS, and how Bravio handles it
| What your program needs | How Bravio handles it |
|---|---|
| An accurate equipment inventory | Asset registry by facility, department and location. Spreadsheet and CMMS-export import with a preview of what will be created or updated before anything is written, matched on asset tag. |
| Risk-based inclusion and intervals | Risk levels (your names, a fixed severity scale, and a separate Critical flag), equipment classes with a default risk and PM interval, and an optional Fennigkoh & Smith EM score calculator on asset templates that suggests a risk level. Equipment classification is switched on per account on request. |
| Manufacturer or AEM intervals | An interval and procedure can be set per class, per model or per asset, and the most specific one wins. Bravio schedules whatever interval you set; the decision and its justification stay in your program documents. |
| Complete PMs on critical equipment | Critical equipment is flagged on its risk level. The Missed PMs list shows overdue PMs with no open work order, and a PM plan repeats a visit that was never completed. |
| Testing before first use and after repair | Procedures attach to equipment classes and can differ by work order type, so an incoming inspection or a post-repair check uses the right checklist for that kind of device. |
| Calibrated test equipment | A Test Equipment module (switched on per account on request): calibration frequency, a calibration log with certificate number and file, pass/fail, the next due date worked out for you, and an email digest 30 days ahead. |
| Records on request | Service report PDFs with signatures and an audit trail. The Report Exporter combines a facility’s reports for a date range into one PDF. |
| Parts and vendors | Parts stock by location, vendors and purchase orders, including partial receipts. |
Where Bravio fits, and where it does not
Bravio was built first for independent biomed service companies, so it is strong where an in-house team works like one: several sites, technicians in the field, equipment that has to be found, inspected and signed off quickly. It is deliberately not an enterprise asset management platform.
- A good fit for community and critical access hospitals, surgery centers, imaging centers and health-system HTM teams that want a CMMS technicians will actually use on a phone, without a platform project.
- A good fit for departments that also service outside sites or recharge other departments, because multiple facilities, contracts, estimates and invoices are part of the product.
- Not a fit today if you need EHR, RTLS, ServiceNow or single sign-on integration. Bravio does not connect to those systems.
- Not a fit today if you need FDA recall matching or medical device cybersecurity (MDS2) management built in. Bravio does neither today.
- Large health systems already standardised on an enterprise HTM platform are usually better served staying on it. Our Nuvolo and Accruent TMS comparisons say where each fits.
Moving your inventory and PM program into Bravio
Most departments arrive with a spreadsheet or an export from an older CMMS. Import runs in three steps (upload, map columns, preview) and nothing is saved until you confirm. Records link to each other, so they come in from the outside in:
- Risk levels, then equipment classes (only if you use classification).
- Asset templates (manufacturer and model), then facilities.
- Assets, matched on asset tag, with PM frequency and next PM date. Leave the next date blank and give the last completed date, and Bravio works it out from the frequency.
- Contracts and parts, at any point after that.
We do the migration with you for free and check the migrated records with you before go-live.
Who uses Bravio as a clinical engineering CMMS?
- In-house HTM and clinical engineering departments at community and critical access hospitals
- Biomed teams at surgery centers, imaging centers and multi-site clinic groups
- Health-system HTM teams that support outlying sites with a small group of technicians
- Departments moving off spreadsheets or an older installed CMMS
How we work with you
Bravio is built around how your shop actually runs.
Not around how software companies assume it runs. The product is shaped by real service weeks inside independent biomed shops — their PM lists, their inspection forms, their report layouts. Yours get the same treatment.
We start by watching you work
A 30-minute session where you walk us through a real week — the PM list, the paper checklists, the spreadsheet nobody wants to touch. No slide deck.

Your workflow shapes the roadmap
If your inspection form, report layout, or PM cadence does not fit what we have built, we change the product. You see it ship in weeks, not quarters.
You talk to the people writing the code
No account manager, no ticket queue, no support tier. A direct line to the team building Bravio.
Your data stays yours
Import from spreadsheets, export everything whenever you want. If Bravio is not the right fit for your shop, we will tell you on the call.
What to expect
Book a 30-minute working sessionYou will be talking to the team that builds Bravio — not a sales rep.
- Asset registry, work orders, PM schedules, rapid inspections, signed and audit-trailed service reports, and invoicing — all in production today.
- The people building Bravio are the people you deal with. No account manager in between.
- We go through pricing openly on the first call, sized to the shop you actually run. Flat plans, no per-user tiers, no implementation fees.
- Bring your equipment list and your report format. You will see Bravio running on your own data before you commit to anything.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a hospital HTM department use Bravio, or is it only for independent biomed shops?
Both. Bravio was built first for independent biomed service companies, which is why multiple facilities, contracts and invoicing are native. An in-house department uses the same equipment inventory, risk classification, PM scheduling, offline inspections and service records, and can simply leave the billing features unused.
Does Bravio support risk-based maintenance and AEM programs?
It gives you the tools to run one: risk levels with a Critical flag, equipment classes with default intervals (equipment classification is switched on per account on request), multi-visit PM plans, and an optional Fennigkoh & Smith EM score calculator. Deciding which equipment goes on an alternate equipment maintenance program, and documenting the risk assessment, belongs to the hospital and its qualified personnel. Under CMS guidance, imaging and radiologic equipment and medical lasers must still be maintained to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Can Bravio track calibration of our test equipment?
Yes, with the Test Equipment module, which we switch on for your account on request. Test equipment is tracked separately from the equipment you maintain: you set a calibration frequency for each analyzer or simulator, log each calibration with its certificate number, file and result, and Bravio sets the next due date and emails a digest when anything is due within 30 days or overdue.
Does the technician app work where there is no signal?
Yes. The iOS and Android app keeps a copy of the relevant data on the phone, saves every action locally first, and sends it when a connection returns. Each queued action carries a unique ID, so a retry cannot create a duplicate work order or report.
Does Bravio integrate with Epic, ServiceNow or an RTLS?
No, not today. Bravio connects to Gmail or Outlook for sending email from your own address, to AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude through MCP, and, on request, to QuickBooks Online or Xero for accounting. If an EHR, RTLS or ServiceNow integration is a requirement, say so on the first call and we will tell you plainly that it is not there.
Can our team use Bravio in Spanish or French?
The web console can be shown in English, French, Spanish (Spain) or Spanish (Mexico), chosen by each person, and is switched on for an organisation on request. Customer-facing documents such as service report PDFs stay in English, and the setting does not change the technician app.
How much does Bravio cost for an HTM department?
Bravio is free to start with no credit card, and we migrate your existing inventory for free. Plans are flat rather than per user, with no implementation fees, and we go through pricing openly on the first call based on the size of your program.
